چکیده
In friction stir welding (FSW), the real contact conditions between tool and workpiece range of strain rates experienced remain quite unclear. this work, a coupled 3D thermo-mechanical numerical model was used to simulate FSW process. A Parametric finite element analysis evolution conditions, temperatures with processing parameters, dimensions base material plastic properties conducted. The able capture mixed slipping/sticking time parameters. temperature rate gradients obtained in simulations were validated experimental data, by calculating grain size distribution, stirred volume, using Zener-Hollomon parameter. Full sticking, full slipping slipping-sticking domains identified process parameters chart. It found that, meanwhile sticking fraction evolve same way is mainly determined rotation speed, varying from an average 68 324 s?1, when speed increased 300 1200 rpm. also mutually influence flow. contact, high strength materials, sensitivity, may display similar flow pattern that low materials. However, coarser more uniform structures result as narrower during combined heat input.

Analysis and Comparison of Friction Stir Welding and Laser Assisted Friction Stir Welding of Aluminum Alloy
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid-state joining process; i.e., no melting occurs. The welding process is promoted by the rotation and translation of an axis-symmetric non-consumable tool along the weld centerline. Thus, the FSW process is performed at much lower temperatures than conventional fusion welding, nevertheless it has some disadvantages. Laser Assisted Friction Stir Welding (LAFS...
متن کاملModeling of heat generations for different tool profiles in friction stir welding: study of tool geometry and contact conditions
In this work, improved heat generation models are developed for straight and tapered shoulder geometries with different tool pin profiles in friction stir welding. The models are developed considering the welding process as a combination of the pure sliding and the pure sticking conditions. From the results, the amount of heat generation is directly proportional to the number of edges in the pi...
متن کاملFriction stir welding and processing
Friction stir welding (FSW) is a relatively new solid-state joining process. This joining technique is energy efficient, environment friendly, and versatile. In particular, it can be used to join high-strength aerospace aluminum alloys and other metallic alloys that are hard to weld by conventional fusion welding. FSW is considered to be the most significant development in metal joining in a de...

Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a recently-developed technique where metals are joined together through mechanical stirring. FSW, often performed by robotic welders, is being used in an increasing number of industries such as aerospace, maritime and transportation. FSW has proven to be very effective and has replaced fusion welding and riveting in a number of manufacturing processes. In order to...
